This role sits within the People Support Team with a primary focus on Staff Engagement in line with the Trust's People Strategy priorities.

The post holder will support the development and delivery of staff engagement activity and approaches, including coordinating insight activities such as the annual NHS Staff Survey and listening approaches between survey cycles, alongside supporting a range of staff recognition programmes.

You will engage with both clinical and non-clinical staff, planning and facilitating engagement events, and supporting colleagues both individually and through team initiatives. It will also involve data collection, analysis and reporting to generate insights that inform meaningful and sustainable change across the organisation.

The post holder will work collaboratively across the wider People Support Team, contributing to Inclusion and Wellbeing workstreams.

A compassionate, inclusive and respectful approach is key, with an emphasis on listening to colleagues and supporting them through appropriate signposting when needed.

Main duties of the job

Support the programme of work linked to the Trust's participation in the annual NHS Staff Survey, alongside wider listening and engagement activity Analyse staff feedback and insight, sharing findings contributing to action plans Plan, coordinate and deliver staff engagement activity Plan and support the delivery of staff recognition activity, including large-scale events and personalised presentations, working with senior leaders, to ensure colleagues feel valued and celebrated Facilitate workshops, focus groups and listening events to gather qualitative insight Develop engagement resources, toolkits and materials to support managers and teams Build strong working relationships with stakeholders Monitor and evaluate the impact of engagement initiatives using quantitative and qualitative data Support preparation of reports, briefings and dashboards for a range of audiences Coordinate and deliver engagement communications Maintain accurate records and data to support delivery, reporting and continuous improvement Contribute to wider organisational priorities and the People Strategy Work collaboratively across the People Support Team, contributing to Inclusion and Wellbeing workstreams Provide responsive support and signposting to colleagues Keep up to date with developments in staff engagement practice and research, applying evidence-based approaches

This role is based at University Hospital Coventry, with visits to community sites and the Hospital of St Cross.

Job description Job responsibilities

This role is focused on supporting the development and delivery of staff engagement activity across the Trust, with a particular emphasis on colleague voice, listening and recognition. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring that staff feedback is captured, understood and used to inform meaningful and sustainable improvements to staff experience.

The role combines the practical delivery of engagement activity with the ability to interpret data and insight, ensuring that approaches are evidence-based and responsive to the needs of the workforce. This includes supporting the Trusts participation in the annual NHS Staff Survey and implementing a range of listening approaches between survey cycles to maintain an ongoing understanding of staff experience.

A key part of the role is the coordination and delivery of staff recognition activity, including both larger events and personalised presentations. The post holder will also contribute to the delivery of Trust-wide engagement and recognition programmes (e.g. long service awards and staff recognition initiatives), helping to ensure these are accessible, inclusive and impactful for all staff groups. The post holder will work closely with senior leaders and teams across the organisation to ensure that recognition is meaningful, inclusive and embedded within everyday practice.

The role also involves planning and facilitating engagement opportunities, such as workshops, focus groups and events, to create spaces where colleagues can share their experiences and contribute to improvement. Alongside this, the post holder will support the development of engagement resources, communications and toolkits, enabling managers and teams to embed effective engagement practices locally.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation, the post holder will act as a key link between staff feedback and organisational action, helping to promote a culture where colleagues feel heard, valued and engaged.

The post holder will contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of engagement activity, using both qualitative and quantitative data to assess impact and support continuous improvement. They will also support reporting to senior leaders and governance groups, ensuring that insight is clearly communicated and used to inform decision-making.

The role includes supporting the operational delivery of engagement activity, including managing shared inboxes, communication channels and responding to enquiries. The post holder will also undertake associated administrative processes, such as coordinating invitations, maintaining accurate records and supporting financial processes, including raising purchase requests and submitting invoices where required.

As part of the wider People Support Team, the role will also contribute to Inclusion and Wellbeing workstreams, maintaining a compassionate and people-centred approach at all times, including supporting colleagues and signposting to appropriate resources where needed.

The post holder will be expected to work autonomously in managing their workload, using initiative and judgement to prioritise tasks, respond to enquiries and support delivery of multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment. They will also contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, keeping up to date with best practice in staff engagement and applying evidence-based approaches to enhance workforce experience and outcomes.
