To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.
Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP.
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance Effective management of long-term conditions Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required Ensure compliance with the appraisal process Prepare and complete the revalidation process Commit to self-learning Support the training of medical students from all clinicaldiscipline Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
About us
The Selhurst Medical Practice is a small family friendly GP practice located in the heart of Selhurst, Croydon, with just over 5,000 patients. We aim to deliver a high standard patient experience through traditional GP values, putting our patients' needs at the heart of everything we do and getting to know our patients well whilst working in a friendly team environment.
We are a GMS practice with one partner, twosalariedGPs, and a dedicated nursing team, including a Nursing Associate. Our competent and friendly reception/administrative team ensures the smooth running of the practice.
We are looking for aGPfor 4 - 6 sessions per week.Sessions are well- structured, with protected time for appointments and administration, ensuring an efficient and manageable workload. We offer flexible session times and are happy to support a newly qualified GP with regular clinical meeting to support learning and development.
