About this role

Job summary

Join a new service at Campsfield House focused on providing a high-quality service to the residents.

The Physiotherapist will provide high-quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and health promotion services to residents within a secure custodial environment. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support residents with musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, mobility, and rehabilitation needs while ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

The role requires the ability to work independently, manage a varied caseload, and deliver care in accordance with HCPC, CSP, NHS, and Home Office standards.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Care: Conducting assessments, developing care plans, delivering treatments (exercise, electrotherapy, mobilisation, etc.) through one-to-one and group programs.

Liaison/Development: Working with the IRC gym and substance misuse services to develop integrated care packages and identify clients with unmet addiction needs related to opiate pain medication

Training: Providing training to in-house services (e.g., gym) on self-care support (e.g., lower back pain classes).

Compliance: Ensuring all services adhere to NHS regulations, clinical guidelines, and site-specific policies, including maintaining accurate records and reporting clinical incidents within 24 hours.

About Us

Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre (IRC)

Campsfield House IRC is a secure facility currently designed to accommodate up to 160 male residents in both single and dual occupancy rooms. The centre houses a combination of time-served foreign national offenders and immigration offenders while the Home Office arranges their removal from the UK.

Residents are not permitted to leave the centre or access the local area. Consequently, recreational, educational, healthcare, living, and faith-related facilities are provided entirely onsite.

The healthcare department provides a range of services including primary care, mental health, substance misuse, pharmacy, dental, optometry, physiotherapy, podiatry, and audiology delivered either by us or our specialist partners.

Join us at the beginningWhere possible, this role will be starting before the centre opens. During this period, you will be undertaking your company and centre induction, supporting setting up the department, helping where required, and generally supporting the service to go live as prepared as we can be.

Criteria

Essential

Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.

Current HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist. Health and Care Professions Council

Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (desirable but preferred).

Experience managing a diverse physiotherapy caseload.

Strong clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Good understanding of safeguarding and patient confidentiality.

IT literacy and experience maintaining electronic clinical records.

Ability to work within a secure or challenging environment.

Desirable

Previous experience within:

Prison healthcare Immigration Removal Centres Secure environments Community rehabilitation NHS services Experience working with vulnerable populations.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care.

Experience in group exercise or rehabilitation programmes.

Training in manual handling or mobility assessments.
