About this role

Job summary

We are seeking a passionate Rapid Response Therapist who shares in our vision of the 'home first' approach. You will have the opportunity to work in a large MDT to deliver a 2-hour response as part of the National Urgent Community Response targets. Our aim is to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and prevent avoidable Emergency Department attendances by an integrated multidisciplinary approach stabilising patients within the place they call home.

The OBI team is a generic therapy service providing assessment and treatment to complex patients. The role will be predominantly crisis response work within a patient's own home, however there will be some opportunity for short term rehab where required.

The post holder will be expected to travel independently to meet the demands of the role across the Dudley borough carrying large piece of equipment as required.

In order to be successful candidates will need evidence alongside person spec requirements how their current knowledge and skill is transferable to this role specifically.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and have post grad experience preferably with older adults and acute medicine/falls. You will have excellent communication skills, time management skills with the ability to prioritise and problem solve. Providing rapid response, senior therapy assessment & treatment of complex patients within the community

You will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills by having responsibility for the supervision of junior staff and students.

This is a 7-day service including bank holidays and weekends. The shift patterns are 08:00 -16:00 and 11:00 - 19:00hrs which can change dependent on the service development/needs.

Qualifications & Education Essential

Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy HCPC registered

Practice Educators qualification

Knowledge and Training Essential

Good knowledge of current best practice of in rapid response, rehabilitation, falls and clinical guidelines Good knowledge of National guidance for Urgent Community Response Services Completed junior rotations in core areas or equivalent rehabilitation experience across a variety of clinical settings Computer literate, knowledge of using TEAMS/Outlook/Excel/Word etc

Evidence of post graduate training

Experience Essential

Evidence of relevant post-graduate experience (including relevant short courses/direct patient experience with physically impaired patients) Experience of working with physically impaired patients
