Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Band 7 Senior Nurse to join our team at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford .
You will receive a warm welcome from an established and extremely experienced team of nurses, doctors and MDT.
You'll be given the chance to manage your own nursing team, become part of the existing senior leadership team and be encouraged to focus on your own preferred area of speciality and there will be numerous opportunities for education, projects and you will be guaranteed strong mentorship and peer support.
Main duties of the job
You will join our extremely strong and resilient team at Broomfield Critical Care which specialises in Upper GI, colorectal and Plastic surgery who also have a close interactive relationship with both Burns ICU and our Critical Care colleagues at both our Southend and Basildon sites.
Duties will include shift lead, expert clinical care of critically ill patients, team leadership and contribution to Senior Leadership Team.
You will be expected to manage rosters, conduct audit and carry out Risk Assessment and investigations when needed. Appraisals of your team and the organisation of your team's yearly team days with their mandatory training will be an intrinsic part of your role. You can expect to receive mentorship and peer support during the year of your secondment to achieve the high demands of your new role.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
A least two years' experience in a shift lead position as a senior nurse in Intensive Care Has awareness of current trends / issues in critical care.
Qualifications Essential
Registered Nurse on part 1 or 12 of the NMC Register. Post registration critical care nursing qualification [previous ENB 100 or equivalent]. Teaching certificate.
Desirable
Successful completion of Step 4 competencies Leadership or Management qualification. ALS or ILS Evidence of recent relevant study
