Job summary
This role is part time (2 days per week) 8A Clinical / Counselling Psychologist, Psychotherapist or equivalent.
We are looking for an experienced psychological clinician to help maintain the operational aspects of the psychological therapies service at Southend working with oncology and palliative care patients.The psychological service is embedded across the three hospitals in MSEFT so the postholder will link with their equivalent on the other two sites. The post holder will offer specialist interventions to inpatients, outpatients, and staff. This is an opportunity to develop leadership and clinical skills in a fast paced applied physical health environment where MDT working is valued.
The post sits within the wider Psychological Therapies Service, Individual and group supervision are provided and although this role requires independent working it requires collaboration and is fully supported both governance and well being wise.

Main duties of the job
With support from the PTS management team the role will oversee the operational aspects of the PTS Southend oncology and palliative care team.
Primary duties are:
To provide psychological screening, psychosocial information, assessment and treatment to in and out patients. To provide consultation on complex psychological issues to the wider multidisciplinary team by involvement in relevant unit meetings. To support the referral managment of the outpatient pathway. To provide training to staff on relevant psychological and mental health issues.

Experience working as a psychological clinician in a health psychology environment Experience working with end of life patients Relevant experience working as a psychological clinician in the NHS Experience of MDT working and its issues

Experience supervising clinical staff and or trainees Experience running staff reflective practice groups Experience teaching MDT professionals
