We have a new and exciting opportunity for a band 6OccupationalTherapist to join our teamon a fixed term basisinWestBerkshire.

Within this post you will have the opportunity to work as part of an experienced team of therapists in a mix of community settings,educationalsettings, homes, having independence and autonomy to manage your own caseload.

In your role you will be expected to deliver a high standard ofoccupationaltherapy care to children and young people withdevelopmental andcomplex needs,thereforefor this role we are looking forsomeonewith a realpassionfor seeing childrenand young peoplereach their potential.

Our core workinghours are Monday to Friday 9:00 - 17:00 but we can offer flexibility around this. The role will involve some travel.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality assessment and interventions for children and young people with developmental / complex needs

Function as a specialist autonomous clinician, supporting delivery of the CYPIT model and providingsupport to more junior staffand students

Contribute to defined projects and service development initiatives as requested

Maintainaccurateand contemporaneous clinical records and provide written therapy plans and reports including contribution to the EHCAssessment process and tribunals asrequired

Useneeds-led,impact-based clinical decision making, and associated outcome measures

Provide specialist clinical care including assessment,diagnosisand intervention

Bea qualifiedOccupationalTherapist, with experience in assessingand treatingchildren and young peoplewith developmental and complex needs presentations

Excellent communication skills

Hold a full UK driving license, with access to using a vehicle for work purposes

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications/Training Essential

Professional Qualification e.g. Professional knowledge acquired through degree/ diploma supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist Training Able to demonstrate required clinical knowledge of up to date Occupational therapy interventions and service issues relevant to Children and Young Peoples service provision. An understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people

Desirable

Clinical educators course Member of relevant clinical specialist interest group

Continuous Professional Development Essential

Recognised CPD in area of clinical specialism

Desirable

Experience of supervision and training of other band 5 therapists/students and other professionals Willingness to undertake leadership and management training and development

Previous Experience Essential

Minimum of 2 years' experience in working with children Experience of undertaking assessment of and supporting children with complex presentations. Experience of supporting CYP in both community and educational settings.

Desirable

Experience with developing and delivering training programmes to support service delivery. Experienced and able to demonstrate a commitment to integrated working and close partnership working with internal and external partners.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Essential

Evidence of a value system which puts the child at the heart of actions Evidence of an understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people Able to demonstrate a clinical knowledge and familiarisation with a range of standardised and non-standardised assessment tools relevant to occupational therapy interventions Able to use IT to support and innovate clinical development Excellent, succinct written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a calm and confident manner in stressful situations Ability to work successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge of current professional and statutory issues Ability to self-motivate

Additional Requirements Essential

Car Driver and willingness to work across Berkshire, as required Good interpersonal skills
