About this role
Job summary This post is for a Locally Employed Doctor (Higher) -- ST3+ equivalent in Cardiology working full-time to commence as soon as possible until 03/08/2027. The successful applicant will work with a team of 15 consultants to provide and develop Cardiology services for the Trust. The appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate education. The post is intended as a whole time appointment but applicants wishing to work part-time will also be considered and the programme will be modified accordingly.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of the service. The appointee will
*To join the Cardiology team to deliver a first class Cardiology service and contribute to the development of the service
*Be accountable to the Clinical Service Lead, Dr R Watkin
*Support the directorate in meeting key performance indicators*
*Deliver agreed standards of care and work, with MDTs, to improve standards where appropriate*
*Provide continuing patient care in partnership with consultant colleagues across the 3 sites
*Support delivery of activity targets in line with activity plans and KPIs
*Allow greater flexibility through effective cover of sickness and annual leave
*Provide professional supervision, direction and training for junior medical staff
*Take an active role in audit, research, teaching and governance
*Participate in the middle grade on call rota -- OOH 1:8 weekdays; 1:9 weekends
*Participate in plans to lead to cost efficiencies across the Directorate*
*Contribute to risk management procedures
*Ensure Continuing Professional Development targets are achieved
