Band 6 Specialist Radiographer - 37.5 hours
An opportunity has arisen within the X-ray department at the Cumberland Infirmary as a Band 6 Specialist Radiographer .
The successful candidate will be expected to be competent in Interventional Radiography and have the skills and knowledge to act as the lead radiographer during interventional procedures.
They will also be expected to oversee the daily running of Keswick X-ray department and be responsible for the service at the community site. There will be an expectation that the candidate will spend at least 1 day per week at Keswick with the other days in the Cumberland Infirmary.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the X-ray Lead & Interventional Lead Radiographer and take responsibility as a senior within the main X-ray Department coordinating and organisation on day-to-day basis and take on additional responsibilities within the department and fulfil their duties to a high standard and meet the demands of the service.
The candidate will be expected to fulfil the role of as set out in the job description and partake in the full rota rotation including out of hours and weekends as well as the on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role include:
Supporting and deputising for the Lead Radiographers in specialist areas including interventional radiography in providing a comprehensive service, using initiative to meet and organise the demands of the service. Take responsibility for the daily organisation and coordinating activities within the available resources. Undertake additional responsibilities within the department as set out by the Lead Radiographers, ensuring they are completed and fulfilled to a high standard Supervise and assist in the practical training of radiographers and radiography helpers. Willingly help other professionals to understand radiographic procedures and images. Act as mentor or preceptor to less experienced staff as required. Work as a member of the team that plays a major part in the practical training of student radiographers. Introduce new members of staff to their duties and play a key role in the departmental induction programme.

Qualifications Essential
