Job summary
Band 6 Senior Cardiorespiratory Physiologist - CPET (Mavacamten clinic)Barts Health Trust is currently one of the largest NHS Trust in England and encompasses four hospitals based in the centre and East of London. The Trust is comprised of the Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew's Hospital, The Royal London, Whipps Cross and Newham University Hospitals. We also help provide cardiac physiology services at University College London Hospital. We are seeking a forward thinking, dynamic, and motivated individual to work at the Barts Heart Centre in the City. The successful candidate will primarily be conducting cardiopulmonary exercise tests (CPET) to support the expanding mavacamten clinic. This role will also involve operational support of clinical triaging and quality assurance in CPET. There will also be opportunity to assistand develop in areas of non-invasive cardiac physiology. Main duties of the job
The Barts Heart Centre has an expanding CPET service across the cardiorespiratory network and you will be a key part of developing the CPET and wider cardio-respiratory services. We have a supportive environment for training and development and attendance at National Conferences. You will be expected to demonstrate maturity and experience consistent with this grade to support the current service and to contribute fully to the improvement and advancement of the service.Applications from candidates who have a BSc Clinical Physiology (orinternational equivalent), or those with a relevant Exercise Science background will be welcome.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent (BSc in Exercise Sciences / Physiology). IBasic Life Support.
Desirable
CPET accreditation or evidence of formal training Registered or working towards registration with the Academy for healthcare Science (AHCS) and/or HCPC Good clinical practice certificate Attendance at recognised CPET interpretation course Immediate Life Support
Experience Essential
Experience conducting and leading CPET Experience interpreting ECGs - ambulatory ECG, exercise testing. Experience performing and interpreting spirometry
Desirable
Experience leading CPET for complex cardiac populations - cardiomyopathy and congenital heart disease Experience conducting and reporting CPET combined with stress echocardiography Experience performing and interpreting full lung function testing Experience in capillary blood gas sampling Experience of training junior members of staff
Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of the data protection act and an understanding of patient confidentiality. Knowledge and understanding of Equal Opportunity and diversity issues.
