As part of investment within community services, Manchester EIS have additional funding to expand, creating an exciting time to join the service. An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Early Intervention Service in Manchester. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Practitioner to work within the service, focusing on undertaking Physical Health Care assessments and monitoring physical health, alongside other service user and carer interventions.
Manchester EIS is fast paced, dynamic, supportive, covering a wide geographical area and supporting those experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
The successful applicant will have some experience of working with service users with mental health issues.The post holder alongside the physical health Lead will be able to hold physical health clinics/complete home visits in order to complete comprehensive physical health assesments including blood tests and ECGs' They will work as part of a busy multi-disciplinary team completing supporting service users to address their physical and mental health needs.
Main duties of the job
Health Promotion & interventions Physical Health Improvement Tool Support with Clozapine, Mood stabiliser and Depot clinics if required Undertake Venepuncture regulalry as required within the PHIT Tool or directed by senior colleagues Undertake ECG as required within the PHIT Tool or directed by physical health lead Supporting annual flu vaccination clinics if required Please note - This role is not eligible for sponsorship under current immigration rules.

Knowledge and Experience Essential
Assisitant practitioner qualification 1 years post qualifying experience in a community team Assessing Physical Health Needs Awareness of interaction of physical and mental health Knowledge and experience of mental health and social care

Venepuncture BLS Blood result awareness in relation to physical health Experience and knowledge of MHA/MCA
Experience Essential
Assessing physical health needs Awareness of mental health and physical health and how it interacts. Have the ability to work on their own initiative under appropriate supervision and engage in reflective practice.

Have previously some experience or been employed in a community health setting.
