30 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £50,000.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden and The Shelburne Hospital in Buckinghamshire is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Physiotherapy to join their team of staff in the Outpatients department.

The successful applicant must be able to travel to The Chiltern Hospital & The Shelburne Hospital.

This is a part time role for 30 hours per week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Main duties of the job

Lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy care across all relevant clinical areas.

Maintain a specialist caseload, providing expert assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation planning.

Provide line management and clinical supervision to physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and students.

Oversee the day-to-day running of the physiotherapy service, including staff rotas, clinic planning, and workload allocation.

Ensure services are delivered in accordance with professional standards (HCPC, CSP), organisational policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g. CQC).

Act as the main point of contact for the physiotherapy service, liaising with senior leaders, consultants, and external partners.

Stay up to date with research, clinical advancements, and national guidance relevant to physiotherapy.

Clinical Leadership and Expertise

Lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy care across all relevant clinical areas.

Maintain a specialist caseload, providing expert assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation planning.

Support complex case management, clinical supervision, and decision-making across the team.

Team Management and Development

Provide line management and clinical supervision to physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and students.

Support staff development through appraisals, training, mentorship, and CPD planning.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional team culture aligned with organisational values.

Service Delivery and Improvement

Oversee the day-to-day running of the physiotherapy service, including staff rotas, clinic planning, and workload allocation.

Contribute to service planning, quality improvement projects, and pathway development.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to reporting and audits.

Governance and Compliance

Ensure services are delivered in accordance with professional standards (HCPC, CSP), organisational policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g. CQC).

Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, confidentiality, and patient safety.

Lead or support incident investigations, risk assessments, and action planning.

Communication and Collaboration

Act as the main point of contact for the physiotherapy service, liaising with senior leaders, consultants, and external partners.

Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.

Represent physiotherapy in governance meetings, case discussions, and strategic forums.

Professional Development and Innovation

Stay up to date with research, clinical advancements, and national guidance relevant to physiotherapy.

Encourage innovation in treatment approaches, digital tools, and service delivery.

Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, education programmes, and outcome measures.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

Essential:

HCPC-registered Physiotherapist.

Significant post-registration experience, including advanced clinical and leadership responsibilities.

Proven ability to lead a team and manage physiotherapy services effectively.

Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills.

Experience in supervising staff and supporting service improvement.

Desirable:

Postgraduate qualification in a physiotherapy specialty or healthcare leadership.

Experience working in private healthcare or across multiple specialties.

Familiarity with clinical governance processes, KPI reporting, and digital systems.

Involvement in research, teaching, or publication.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

HCPC-registered Physiotherapist.

Desirable

MACP membership. Acupuncture certificate. Postgraduate qualification in a physiotherapy specialty or healthcare leadership.

Experience Essential

Significant post-registration experience, including advanced clinical and leadership responsibilities. Proven ability to lead a team and manage physiotherapy services effectively. Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills. Experience in supervising staff and supporting service improvement. Extensive MSK/Outpatient Physiotherapy experience at a senior level.

Desirable

Experience working in private healthcare or across multiple specialties. Familiarity with clinical governance processes, KPI reporting, and digital systems. Involvement in research, teaching, or publication. Paediatric outpatient physiotherapy experience.
