An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and highlymotivated Nursing Associates to join our supportive, professional team within the Acute Neurology Unit, bleasdale ward at Royal Preston Hospital. This will be a challenging and rewardingopportunity for anyone wishing to further develop their nursing skills andknowledge within acute Neurology. The team on Bleasdale are very friendly, motivated and committed to providing high quality, expert specialist neurology care.
Our staff strive toprovide the highest quality of service for our patients and their families andcarers, through a collaborative team approach.37.5 hours FT, 22.5- 30 hours PT
The role covers a 24-hour, 7-day service and will therefore include weekends androtation to night duty.Long day shifts and night shifts would be expected.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, you willsupport patients with complexneurologicalneeds and provide hands-on,person-centred care.

-Contribute to the assessment, implementation and evaluation of care to meet patients needs in accordance with agreed local and national standards and evidence based guidelines under supervision.
-Support and provide patient education and health promotion.
-Support the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice.
-Contribute to the management of risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
-Assist in setting, monitoring and maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
-Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.
-Maintain accurate and complete records of all care activities, in a timely manner, adhering to local and professional standards for documentation.

-Ensures environment of care is safe, well equipped and compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Education Essential
Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification GCSE Grade A-C or Grade 4 or above in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
Desirable
Good Information Technology skills
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Significant experience working in a healthcare environment as part of a team. Proven competency of assisting with a core range of physical measurements.

Experience of using clinical systems -e.g. Quadramed
