Main duties of the job The Health Care Support Worker is an essential role within the team at Savernake, where they provide high standards of care and support for patients as well as comfort to families, friends, and carers. In addition to essential care, there will be opportunities to develop additional skills such as monitoring and recording patient observations and conducting ECGs and phlebotomy. The role involves working within a multi-professional team, providing support, care, and treatment to individuals as per guidelines and protocols. Responsibilities include providing essential care to meet patient needs, such as maintaining personal hygiene, continence, mobility, nutrition, and hydration, promoting rehabilitation and encouraging independence, all within the inpatient ward setting. The role offers potential for flexible working patterns and requires someone motivated, compassionate, and with good team-working skills, experience working under supervision, and a good general education. A Care Certificate is required or a willingness to achieve it.

Savernake Ward provides 24 hour care, 7 days a week to our patients so the ideal candidate will be able to work a variety of shifts.

Main Responsibilities
To work within a multi-professional team in an Inpatient setting, providing, support, care, and treatment to individuals, within guidelines and protocols identified for the role.
You will be expected to provide a high level of Essential Care to meet the needs of patients in the Ward. This will include helping to maintain personal hygiene, continence, mobility, nutrition and hydration.
As well as supporting recovery you will promote rehabilitation, encouraging patients to regain and maintain as much independence as possible.

Qualifications Essential
Good general education, Care Certificate or willingness to achieve, experience working under supervision, ability to work as a team member, capability to undertake specific nursing/therapy skills, typing/data inputting skills, physical skills to handle patients and use aids.
