Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Diversional Activity Coordinator to join our Therapies Team at Silverwood in Chertsey. We are a fully integrated therapy team, and you will be working with people being treated on our 4 Working Age Adult Wards.
As a Diversional Activities Coordinator within the Therapies Team, you'll help to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for people who use our services.
Your role supports the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care that positively contributes to each individual's recovery journey.
This role involves planning and delivering engaging activities tailored to individual needs and interests to support and enhance psychological, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being.

Organise, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities in an inclusive, stimulating, and safe environment. Ascertain and interpret group interests, evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to meet individual participant needs. Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities, and demonstrate use of materials and equipment. Develop positive relationships with participants. To adopt a pragmatic and non-judgmental approach. To provide structured opportunities for people to relax and socialise.

Level 3 qualifcation in health and social care or related topic Level 2 qualification in health and social care or related topic plus demonstrable experience in a paid care role or proven experience in a paid care role

Significant experience in a patient facing role within health care role Experience of working within a team Experience in facilitating groups and individual activities
Desirable
Experience of working within adult mental health setting
