Job summary
West London CAMHS is looking for an 0.4 WTE Team Lead (Band 8b) to join our innovative new North West London Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Support and Intervention Service pilot on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The pilot aims to provide access to Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) for the families and carers of Neurodivergent young people aged 0 to18 currently on the Dynamic Support Register (DSR).
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and innovative clinician who can help taking a leading role using a creative and dynamic approach, including maintaining clinical curiosity and engaging in reflective practice as well as advocating for children, young people and families' needs. We hope the successful candidate would support and implement our commitments to staff wellbeing, manageable job plans and giving staff the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge further whilst in role.
Main duties of the job
The service will cover young people and their families, registered with a GP and resident within the NWL boroughs of Hounslow, Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Hillingdon, Harrow, Brent, Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea. The role is to clinically lead the pilot, which will involve service development and stakeholder consultation with health, social care, and third-sector organisations alongside line management of clinical staff and opportunities to co-deliver NVR interventions.
You will be joining a welcoming senior leadership team in West London who are committed to service improvement, staff well-being, and who value diversity in our workforce. The post provides excellent opportunities for professional development and you will receive regular supervision from a CAMHS Head of Discipline. You will also join the CAMHS Head of Discipline with providing leadership and supervision of professionals within your discipline across our community and specialist teams.

Qualifications Essential
Professional knowledge acquired through a degree- or doctorate- level qualification in one of the following: oFamily and Systemic Psychotherapy oClinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent if trained overseas) oNursing RMN/RNC oChild and Adolescent Psychotherapy (eligible for full membership of the Association of child psychotherapist) oSocial work with additional therapeutic qualifications o Occupational therapy Current professional registration as applicable: the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), Social Work England (SWE) Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) or the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Post-qualification training in supervision and specialist application of formal therapy models Completion of Foundation and Advanced level NVR training

Experience Essential
Extensive post-registration experience which includes experience of working in a supervisory and leadership role Extensive experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity and across the age range of 0-18, including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse. Substantial experience of working with Children and Young People in mental health crisis. Experience of assessment and intervention with individuals with neurodevelopmental difficulties. Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan. Experience of teaching and training. Experience of multi-agency working. Significant experience of delivering professional, clinical and management supervision to qualified mental health practitioners. Experience of and commitment to service development.

Experience of multi-agency working specific to Neurodivergent children and young people (e.g. Children with Disabilities Social Care Teams, DSRs, LAEPs, CETRs, etc.) Experience of the application of mental health knowledge and skills in different cultural contexts.
Knowledge & Skills Essential
Skills in the use of complex methods of assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration. Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS. Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups. Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health. Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by their professional body.
Desirable
Knowledge and skills in specialist assessment and intervention with specific groups (e.g. looked after children, learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, adolescent mental health, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders). Knowledge of application of therapeutic models to children who have special educational needs and neurodevelopmental conditions. Knowledge of legislation, policies, and processes in relation to Neurodivergent children and young people (e.g. LAEP, CTSR, DSR, EHCPs, etc.)
