Job summary

Are you passionate about physiotherapy services for children and young people, and are looking for a new challenge?

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the AHP Professional Leadership team and across the Children and Families Division, to maintain and develop the Community Paediatric Physiotherapy service. We are looking for a Paediatric Physiotherapist with significant clinical experience at a senior grade, to provide professional and clinical leadership to our dedicated team.

The role will support the Physiotherapy team and Service Managers to provide excellent care for our children and families. The postholder will identify clinical priorities, setting and monitoring standards for clinical practice, patient centred care planning, and ensuring the team has the right skills and support to deliver a high-quality service.

A thorough understanding of clinical governance, quality measures, the development of clinical outcomes and AHP strategy is also required for this role. There will be the opportunity to work closely with other Professional AHP and Nursing colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach.

Main duties of the job

To provide clinical leadership and expertise for the Physiotherapy service in the Children & Families Division, improving care for patients and taking an active role in the clinical forums within the Division.To maintain a clinical professional overview for the physiotherapists and advise and work closely with the Service Managers and Clinical Service Managers with regards to the deployment of the staffing resource across the city within available resources. To identify clinical priorities, setting and monitoring standards for clinical practice, patient centred care planning, and ensuring the team has the right skills and support to deliver a high quality service.To promote and facilitate a research and audit culture within the profession, ensuring that proposals are discussed and approval sought via appropriate clinical routes.To act as a clinical specialist for Physiotherapy, providing expert opinion and knowledge within the specialist area of Physiotherapy, clinical colleagues and other professionals.

Qualifications Essential

oDegree (or equivalent qualification) in the relevant profession - Physiotherapy (3) oProfessional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (3) oMasters degree or the following: o Post graduate qualification in an area of clinical expertise o Extensive clinical experience including audit and/or research (3) oEvidence of continuing professional development (3)

Experience Essential

oRelevant clinical supervision/teaching experience oExtensive experience of working with children oRelevant experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team oExtensive experience of working with other agencies, including schools oSignificant experience of staff support/management oRelevant experience of engagement of people who are socially excluded, disabled or disadvantaged

Skills/Knowledge Essential

oKnowledge and understanding of Equality and Diversity issues oCompetent in clinical leadership skills and the ability to lead change oGood working knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance, and of risk and performance management oCompetent in use of IT systems and processes relevant to the area of work oKnowledge and understanding of the goals, vision and values of the Division and the Trust
