Due to this being an apprenticeship, you can only apply if you meet the criteria below:
Have the equivalent of 9 to 4 or A* to C pass at GCSE Level in English Language, Maths, Science plus 1 other subject pass.
Level 2 Dispensing Assistant Course along with Functional skills Level 2 in Maths and English.
Overseas qualifications - require ENIC Statement of Comparability, number required on application form
You cannot be considered with Access to HE qualifications or Degrees if they contain pharmacology content.
The Education provider reviews qualifications; submission of qualification certificates/ENIC statement of comparability are required before interview.
As a Pharmacy Technician apprentice, you'll participate in a fixed term training programme. Involving work-based training and formal study (underpinning knowledge).
Interviews to be held on the 30th June and 1st July 2026 - applicants must be available on this date.
Assessment activities are used as part of the application process.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the pharmacy team your duties will include dispensing prescriptions, medicine management at ward level, stores/distribution and aseptic production. Your rota will span across Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and St Mary's Hospital so you must be able to travel to all sites. You will also be required to work as part of the late duty and weekend / bank holiday team rotas. We are focused on personal development and will give you the support you need to achieve your qualifications. The ability to cope with the discipline of studying and a commitment to completing course work in your own time and within deadline whilst working as part of a team within a busy department is essential. There are excellent opportunities for further employment providing career development and promotion following successful completion of the PTPT training.
