About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response (EPRR) and Site Team Support Officer. The post holder will work as part of the HDFT EPRR Team reporting directly to the EPRR Lead and will support the development and maintenance of emergency preparedness arrangements across the organisation.

This post is integral to achieving compliance with the NHS EPRR core standards by development and implementation of emergency plans and business continuity management.

You will provide support and specialist advice on emergency planning and business continuity management, preparedness, response and recovery to internal and external stakeholders.

The role involves working with internal colleagues, Integrated Care Boards (ICB), NHS Trusts, and other organisations throughout the region.

Main duties of the job

To support the Trust response to Major/ Critical and Business Continuity incidents whenrequired including Incident Coordination Centre management.

To assist the EPRR Lead in the development, co-ordination and delivery of the EmergencyPreparedness Resilience and Response (EPRR) agenda to ensure the Trust can provideservices to its patients and meet its obligations to other stakeholder organisations.

To support with developing policy and internal plans.

To deputise for the EPRR Lead.

To develop and maintain a work programme for the delivery of EPRR related training andexercising.

To lead on specific areas of work as agreed with the EPRR Lead.

To oversee the development of the On-Call Senior Managers and Directors Rota.

To represent the Trust and work closely with external partners in other NHS Trusts, NHS England, NHS Humber & North Yorkshire ICBs and Local Resilience Forums in the developing of multi-agency plans including taking an active role in any training and exercising.

To support with information requests from partner agencies

To assist the EPRR Lead in the development and completion of Trust assurances and reports as required in relation to EPRR.

To support the day-to-day functions of the Site Team where possible

To act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EPRR for the Trust.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Educated to degree level or have an equivalent level of experience in relevant subject

Desirable

EPRR qualification, i.e. Diploma in Health Emergency Planning (DipHepRR). Business Continuity qualification

Experience Essential

Experience of partnership working across a range of agencies Database management experience, including administration of system, interrogation of data and presentation of information in a user friendly format. Experience of working within a multi-agency environment Experience of working to tight deadlines

Desirable

Previous experience of working within an in an Acute or Primary Health Care setting Emergency Planning or Business Continuity management experience Experience of organising administration/ facilitation of meetings to a Committee/Group, including production of an agenda, taking minutes, etc. Experience of planning & delivery of training in Emergency Planning and Major Incident/ Business Continuity response to staff groups and individuals.

Knowledge Essential

Understanding of EPRR and Business Continuity. Evidence of project work and multi-agency working Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff

Desirable

Knowledge and understanding of NHS EPRR guidance and legislation such as the Civil Contingencies Act. Understanding of the principles and practice of Risk management

Skills Essential

Excellent written and presentation skills. Accurate typing and advance document formatting skills. Excellent communication skills. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and of using electronic information systems with advance keyboard skills. Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Excellent time management skills with the ability to reprioritise. Ability to work on detailed documentation where concentration and mental effort is essential. Ability to proof-read and pay attention to detail. Ability to work well within a team. oAbility to concentrate in a workplace where frequent interruptions may be commonplace.
