Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly Inpatient Speech and Language Therapy Team, based at Harrogate District Hospital.
This post is offered at 0.7 WTE (26.25 hours per week). However, flexible working arrangements or reduced hours may be considered for the right candidate. There may also be additional hours available within the community SLT team, with the potential to increase the role to up to 0.9 WTE. The Inpatient Adult SLT Team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust delivers high-quality, specialist care to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties across Harrogate District Hospital and Ripon Community Hospital. Our work is varied, rewarding, and includes supporting patients across a range of specialist wards including frailty, neurology and critical care.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will have the opportunity to further develop specialist skills while managing a diverse inpatient adult caseload. You will also gain regular exposure to our instrumental swallowing assessment services, including Videofluoroscopy and FEES, supported by experienced clinicians.
Assessment and treatment of adult inpatients with communication and swallowing needs Working closely within MDTs and with the wider SLT team
The post will enable you to continue to develop your specialist skills within a supportive team structure, with regular supervision
Providing support, supervision and training of junior SLTs and/or SLT assistants as required

Experience Essential
HCPC registration Post- basic dysphagia qualification/independent management of dysphagia Experience of working within uni-professional and multidisciplinary staff teams

Videofluoroscopy/FEES experience Experience of training others (SLTAs and/or students) Experience of working in inpatient settings
