Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Matron to join our Community Services leadership team across North East Essex (NEE). This is an exciting opportunity for a visible, engaged, and forward-thinking leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and shaping the future of community services.
We are looking for a highly motivated and credible leader who, has had previous experience in a senior leadership role, and demonstrates strong visible leadership and the ability to inspire and engage teams. Experience in the community services or integrated care settings would be desirable.
As Senior Matron, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting the transformation of community services across North East Essex. You will provide strong clinical and operational leadership across:
Three established community wards A fourth community ward opening this Summer Governance and quality oversight for the Proactive Neighbourhood Clinical Delivery Group This role is integral to ensuring safe, effective, and responsive care delivery, while driving innovation and continuous improvement across services.

Main duties of the job
Provide leadership for staff working in the Clinical Specialty Provide professional and managerial leadership for all nursing and support roles and be accountable for the safe, efficient delivery of patient care in line with current research/evidence, ensuring a framework of safe, effective practice Working closely with Sister/charge Nurse/Leads will, as a key member of the Clinical Specialty Senior Team, be responsible and accountable for facilitating the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trust and NHS commissioning requirements through clinical service delivery Actively contribute to the Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMB) with a focus in supporting development in nursing and clinical practice in line with the local and national nursing agenda. Deputise for the Head of Nursing and Clinical Services within the division.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
oEvidence of academic pathway equivalent to Degree in Nursing or Health Related study oMasters Degree in relation to health management (Or equivalent experience that recognises highly developed and complex levels of knowledge, which enable the development of in-depth and original responses to complicated and unpredictable problems and situations. Professional training / Learning at this level will need to demonstrate highly developed professional knowledge, which is appropriate for senior professionals / managers) oProfessional nursing qualification oDemonstration and evidence of personal professional development
Desirable
oMasters Degree or working toward/unit/departments Masters Degree level education oManagement Leadership Qualification, which has been tested in a management post
Experience Essential
oProven experience at senior nurse level oCurrent health policy and its impact on the management and development of acute health services oExperience of effective budgetary management oSignificant experience of effective staff management oExperience of ability to manage complex change quickly & effectively oExperience of service redesign and development oA proven record of success in managing significant operational change while also developing and maintaining high standards of care
