About this role

Job summary

We are looking for a friendly, organised, and proactive Medical Receptionist / Care Navigator to join our busy and supportive healthcare team. This is an important front-line role where you will be the first point of contact for patients, helping ensure they receive the right care from the right service at the right time.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

About us

You will be employed on behalf of the Practice by Our Health Partnership (OHP).

OHP was set up by local GPs who are passionate about providing high quality primary care and using their time and skills effectively to benefit patients..

We are currently a GP partnership of 30 practices with 38 surgeries, serving around 280,000 patients in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Shropshire.

Our head office is based in Cotteridge, but this role will be based at Woodgate Valley Health Centre.

Job description Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and compassionate manner, in person and over the telephone Book, reschedule and cancel patient appointments using the clinical system Handle incoming phone calls, triage queries and signpost patients to the most appropriate clinician or healthcare service Process prescription requests and liaise with GPs and Pharmacists where necessary Register new patients and maintaining accurate patient records using clinical systems Manage patient queries regarding test results, referrals and general practice information Handling confidential information in line with GDPR, NHS Guidelines and practice policies Supporting clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative duties Assist with referrals to secondary care and community services Process incoming and outgoing correspondence Scan, file and code clinical documents into patient records

Person Specification

Experience Desirable

Experience of working within Primary Care Experience of working on a reception area in a busy environment Experience or qualification in customer care Experience in care navigation or signposting patients to appropriate services

Personal Skills & Qualities Essential
