6 Session Salaried GP

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking practice team.

Located in a pleasant Surrey setting with excellent transport links, Sunbury Health Centre Group Practice provides high-quality care to approximately 19,300 patients and has a strong reputation for teamwork, and clinical excellence.

Main duties of the job

The role includes a mix of routine and acute appointments, participation in clinical triage to support timely access to care and effective patient navigationwith opportunities to develop special interests and contribute to teaching, supervision, or service innovation.

Job description Job responsibilities

Clinical Duties

Undertake face-to-face, telephone and online consultations for patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions. Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients in line with current clinical guidance and best practice. Prescribe medications safely and appropriately in accordance with practice and national policies. Manage both acute and chronic disease presentations. Provide health promotion and preventative care advice. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and complete clinical records. Arrange appropriate investigations, referrals, and follow-up care. The practice has a home visiting paramedic team although participating in home visits may occasionally be required where clinically appropriate. Support safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults.Clinical Triage

Participate in daily clinical triage systems to assess patient needs and determine appropriate care pathways. Review and prioritise same-day and urgent appointment requests. Conduct telephone and digital triage consultations where required. Signpost patients appropriately to internal services, community services, urgent care pathways, or secondary care when clinically indicated. Work collaboratively with reception, care navigation, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient access. Contribute to the continuous improvement of triage and access systems within the practice.Multidisciplinary Working

Work collaboratively with nursing staff, pharmacists, paramedics and administrative teams. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions. Support integrated care working with external healthcare providers and community services.Quality and Governance

Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, and quality improvement programmes. Maintain compliance with GMC standards and appraisal requirements. Contribute to QOF, enhanced services, and practice development initiatives. Support significant event reviews and learning activities. Ensure adherence to infection control, information governance, and safeguarding policies.Teaching and Development

Participate in practice meetings, educational events, and continuing professional development (CPD). Support and supervise trainees, medical students, or other learners where appropriate. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills relevant to general practice.Equality and Diversity

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Qualified GP, MBBS or equivalent medical degree MRCGP Full GMC Registration National Performers List registration Eligibility to practice in the UK independently

Desirable

Experience of continued professional development Experience of QOF and clinical audit Experience of medicines management General understanding of the GMS contract Experience of clinical supervision and teaching
