Job summary
The Trust is looking for a dynamic forward thinking Capital Projects Estates Officer role to undertake the delivery and project management of capital estates schemes from minor works values through to multi-million-pound projects. This includes all schemes within the Trust's Capital Programme, and that schemes are completed on time, within budget and to the right quality to meet the Trusts needs and objectives.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist advice for all building aspects of projects undertaken by the Estates & Facilities Directorate. This will include confirmation of project feasibility, production of detailed design drawings and specifications, procurement including preparation of contract documentation, control of the contractor day to day throughout the construction, commissioning and evaluation. Also, to provide building advice and briefing information to facilitate the implementation of projects managed by external design consultants.
The post holder will provide specialist building advice, to ensure Estates records are up to date, both to inform the operational estates team in their day-to-day activity, and to ensure effective co-ordination between operational and design issues, in the management of the Trust estate.

Experience Essential
significant, demonstrable post qualification experience in building design Demonstrable practical experience in the use of Computer Aided Design Systems
Desirable
Previous experience within an NHS or Healthcare environment use of computer software systems for drawing, project management or digital estates management systems, such as Invida, MICAD, etc.
Qualifications Essential
Degree in a building surveying / Architectural background or equivalent relevant professional experience. Two-dimensional Computer Aided Design level 2 City and Guilds Qualification. Health & Safety Qualification
Desirable
Project Management Qualification to have or be studying towards a professional qualification such as CIOB, RICS, RIBA, IFM, etc NEBOSH Qualification or equally approved
Skills Essential
To have highly developed project management skills Knowledge of current contract and tendering procedures and practical experience to procure projects. Current up to date knowledge of Building Regulations, Fire Safety Regulations, Building Safety Act and Planning Legislation.
Desirable
To have experience and knowledge of Computer Aided Estates & Facilities Management Systems such as Invida, MICAD, etc.
