Make a real difference in peoples lives by supporting them at the most important time. Marie Curie is looking for a compassionate Community Healthcare Assistant to provide high-quality end-of-life care to patients in their own homes across West Kent.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver personalised, dignified care and emotional support to patients and those important to them.

Job description Job responsibilities

The Healthcare Assistant is a key member of the care team, supporting the delivery of holistic, person-centred care for patients with terminal illness. You will work in patients homes, helping them maintain comfort, dignity and independence wherever possible.

The role involves working night shifts and travelling between locations in the community. You will be supported through training and development opportunities to build your skills in palliative and end-of-life care.

Essential criteria

Experience in a health or social care settingCompassionate, patient-centred approachAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication and interpersonal skillsBasic IT skillsFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleDesirable criteria

NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)Experience in community or palliative careContract: Permanent, part-time

Hours: 18 hours per week (night shifts)

Location: Community-based West Kent (Maidstone area)

Salary: £24,465 per annum (pro rata) + night shift enhancements

NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)

Experience Essential

Experience providing care in a health or social care setting, with knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care.
