Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Medical Director in providing high-quality palliative care services at the West Midlands Hospice, primarily by providing medical support for a 12-bed in-patient unit and a community team.
This role involves participation in training and educational activities as well as activities relating to maintaining clinical excellence within the service.
Experience in palliative medicine is desirable. There will be ongoing education and supervision for the successful applicant.

Job Title: Specialty Doctor in Palliative Medicine
Location: Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands
Salary: Specialty Doctor Scale £61,542 - £99,216 per annum pro rata (dependent on experience) and 5% Availability Supplement
Hours:6-7 PA (24-28 hours) with 1 in 5 on-call commitment
Contract: 12 months - fixed term
Closing Date:Friday 29th May

Anticipated Start Date: 20th July 2026

Qualifications Essential
Completion of Foundation Training or equivalent and at least a further 2 years full-time post-graduate experience in a recognised training programme (or equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis). Or a demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies.
Desirable
Higher Medical Qualification, e.g. MRCP, MRCGP Diploma in Palliative Medicine
Experience Essential
