Job summary
We are seeking a motivated, innovative and highly organised individual to join our experienced and expanding Nutrition and Dietetics team as a Dietetic Assistant (15 hours per week), based at Frimley Park Hospital.
The successful candidate will support the administrative team and work under the supervision of dietitians. The role includes supporting patients on fortified and specialist diets by providing appropriate menus and oral nutritional supplements, and liaising with ward staff and the catering department. You will also assist with nutritional assessments by gathering nutrition-related information from patients and ward teams.
The postholder will help promote the importance of nutrition through awareness activities and by supporting training alongside the dietetic team. Administrative responsibilities include general office duties, checking patient menus, gathering information ahead of clinics, stock checking and handling enteral feeding supplies, and computer-based analysis of patient dietary intakes.
You will develop an understanding of therapeutic diets and hospital catering systems. The role requires good communication and problem-solving skills, initiative, basic IT and office skills, and the ability to work flexibly as a valued member of the team.

Main duties of the job
Support the Nutrition and Dietetics team at Frimley Park Hospital as a Dietetic Assistant Assist the administrative team with general office and departmental tasks Work under dietetic supervision to support patients on fortified and specialist diets Provide and check appropriate menus and oral nutritional supplements for patients Liaise with ward staff and the catering department regarding patient dietary needs Check patient menus to ensure dietary requirements are met Retrieve and prepare patient information ahead of dietetic clinics Carry out stock checking and manage enteral feeding supplies Undertake computer-based analysis of patient dietary intakes Develop a good working knowledge of therapeutic diets and hospital catering systems Respond to a range of queries using good communication, problem-solving skills and initiative Work flexibly as a supportive and reliable member of the wider team
