The role of Business Operations Development Manager will play a vital role in supporting the Senior Leadership Team to drive business commercial expansion and deliver the corporate 3 year strategy.

The role will work closely with the Managing Director, to support in the development of a number of existing and new workstreams. As a result, the role requires someone who can operate at all levels, manage projects effectively (and to budget) and provide good sound commercial judgement across a number of areas.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for day-to-day leadership and operational management of all associated commercial activities.

Support the Managing Director to ensure that the business maximises all commercial opportunities and delivers ambitious, sustainable and progressive growth.

Providing oversight and direction for all designated work stream projects, including the development of project plans, ensuring consistency with the business strategic vision, goals and objectives.

Planning, negotiating and offering expert advice to ensure sufficient resources are available to undertake the business activities within the given timescales.

Provide clear support to assigned business development projects, acting as a positive role model and actively promoting the corporate vision, strategic aims and values supporting the drive towards a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

Person Specification

Experience and Knowledge Essential

Experience of managing large and complex projects, prioritising effectively and delivering against robust budgets Substantial operational and management experience at a senior level Experience of preparing and presenting business cases, end stage reports etc. Experience of building successful multi discipline project teams Demonstrable Change Management experience and ability to interpret evidence and national guidance to support the development of new models of care with action plans to bring about the implementation of these models Experienced people manager with the ability to influence, consult, negotiate and problem solve Evidence of good analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and statistical data Working knowledge of financial processes, and ability to write financial focused reports for senior executives Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of individuals Good commercial awareness, with an ability to exploit commercial opportunities quickly and effectively

Desirable

Good level of knowledge and understanding of service and/or systems delivery within the NHS

Qualifications & Training Essential

BA (Hons) in Business or Project Management or other related field and/or relevant work experience Demonstrable experience in project planning & implementation, leading to successful and measurable outcomes

Desirable

PRINCE2 practitioner or an equivalent project management qualification or experience

Organisational Skills Essential

Ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously and deliver to agreed time scales Take responsibility for the accuracy, timeliness, reliability and appropriateness of data ensuring quality decisions can be made Take a lead for analysis and reporting of specific target areas as agreed Effective decision-making ability when prioritising and organising own and team workloads to ensure strict project deadlines are met. Self-motivated and able to enthuse wider teams to ensure projects are delivered on time Ability to identity business expansion "pinch points", to mitigate risk as appropriate and when required and to ensure project deliverables are met to the agreed time, cost and quality measures Continuous development of own skill set, knowledge and experience to improve personal performance Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly
