Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic supportive experienced individual to join the medical day case team in a Sister Role with additional paracentesis responsibilities. The post holder will lead day to day activities, carry out nursing interventions and treatments to both speciality and general medical patients, providing them with good quality of living and therapeutic treatments as outpatients. In addition the post holder will insert ascitic drains to a cohort of outpatients attending MDCU and manage their ongoing care.
The department is open Monday to Fridays excluding bank holidays and will involve occasional LD working on Wednesdays.
This post is 25 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:00 - 18:00, there is the occasional Long day working on a Wednesday 08:00 - 20:00
Main duties of the job
Working in partnership with the Department Sister and Leader provide senior leadership in line with the Trusts values and behaviours. Insert ascitic drains and manage ongoing care Administering prescribed medical treatments Administering blood products Perform venepuncture/ cannulation Undertaking CVAD line care including obtaining blood samples Performing venesections Post procedure management/ recovery eg post biopsy recovery

Experience Essential
