The School of Architecture, Building and Environment is seeking to appoint an Assistant Lecturer in Construction (Wood Manufacturing), on a permanent wholetime contract basis. The post is a critical element in growing expertise and capacity in construction technologies and, more specifically, in the Wood Manufacturing Apprenticeship at a time of expansion of delivery. The post is intended for building professionals who are qualified to teach the apprenticeship of Wood Manufacturing and carry out a range of academic duties, including lecturing, research, engagement and general academic activities in support of the discipline and school. As part of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Apprenticeships, the School of Architecture, Building and Environment (SABE) offers unique opportunities for cross disciplinary academic collaborations in the areas of architecture, architectural technology, timber technology, construction and building performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to develop and strengthen cross-disciplinary modules and curricula. The post will be within the Discipline of Construction in SABE in TU Dublin's City Campus. This discipline includes a range of apprenticeships (i.e. Wood Manufacturing, Carpentry & Joinery, Paint & Decorating and Brick & Stonelaying) and degree programmes (e.g. BSc Sustainable Timber Technology). Hours of Work: This is a wholetime post. In addition to teaching hours (up to 18 hours per week), attendance is required from Monday to Friday during the general working hours of the School and University. Location: Bolton Street, TU Dublin. Salary: The Assistant Lecturer Salary Scale is: • €47,572 - €64.372 (New Entrants) Appointments will be made at the appropriate point on the appropriate scale.
