The School of Architecture, Building and Environment seeks to appoint two Assistant Lecturers in Construction (Carpentry & Joinery) on a permanent wholetime basis. These posts are a critical element in growing expertise and capacity in construction technologies within the Discipline and, more specifically, in the Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship at a time of expansion of delivery. The posts are intended for building professionals who are qualified to teach the apprenticeship of Carpentry & Joinery and carry out a range of academic duties, including lecturing, research, wider engagement and general academic activities in support of the discipline and school. As part of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Apprenticeships, SABE offers unique opportunities for cross disciplinary academic collaborations in the areas of architecture, architectural technology, spatial planning, environmental management timber technology, construction and building performance. The posts will be within the Discipline of Construction in SABE in TU Dublin's City Campus. The discipline includes a range of apprenticeships (i.e. Wood Manufacturing, Carpentry & Joinery, Paint & Decorating and Brick & Stonelaying) and degree programmes (e.g. BSc Sustainable Timber Technology). The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to develop and improve cross disciplinary modules and curricula. Hours of Work: This is a wholetime post. In addition to teaching hours (up to 18 hours per week), attendance is required from Monday to Friday during the general working hours of the School and University. Location: Bolton Street, TU Dublin. Salary: The Assistant Lecturer Salary Scale is: • €47,572 - €64.372 (New Entrants) Appointments will be made at the appropriate point on the appropriate scale.
