Job summary
We are seeking a Programme Manager to join NHS Employers, leading work with the organisation to embed organisational development (OD) and continuous improvement into staff experience.

Main duties of the job
You will lead and deliver a defined programme of work that embeds organisational development (OD) approaches at the heart of our staff experience agenda. This includes shaping, designing and integrating OD and continuous improvement principles, including motivation and behaviour change techniques, across our staff experience offer for employers - ensuring alignment with the ambitions of the 10 Year Workforce Plan. A key focus of this role will be driving forward work on staff standards, flexible working and wellbeing, strengthening capability across the system and supporting sustainable culture change.
Your leadership will help ensure our approach meets the evolving needs of employers, employees and the communities we serve, now and in the future.
This programme aims to enhance the capacity of healthcare organisations to deliver and sustain positive staff experience which enhances the working loves, improves retention and has a positive impact on patient care.This will include work to support the delivery of the equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) agenda.

As well as an understanding of key retention priorities, insights, challenges and enablers to good work and staff experience you will also have experience in an OD role working in a complex organisation.
You will also have:
Associate level knowledge and skills in OD, design and navigating change.A track record of developing effective and productive professional working relationships both within and outside the NHS, including at a senior level, and engaging with employers to improve workforce and people practices, including facilitation, influencing skills and delivery presentation to external audiences.Experience of robustly evaluating activity to demonstrate impactExperience in generating written content, briefings, reports and guidance for large scale use.

Experience Essential
Recent experience in an organisational development role in a complex organisation or environment. Associate level knowledge and skills in organisational development and design and in navigating change (see CIPD profession map). Experience of producing written briefings and reports. Experience of engagement, facilitation and influencing key stakeholders, including delivering presentations to external audiences. Experience of robustly evaluating activity to demonstrate impact. Ability to develop effective and productive professional working relationships both within and outside the NHS, including at a senior level. Understanding of the key retention priorities, insights and challenges and enablers to good work and staff experience.
