An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Doncaster & Bassetlaw Diabetes Eye Screening Team.
The Doncaster & Bassetlaw Diabetes Eye Screening Programme is commissioned by Public Health England to provide a comprehensive population based diabetes eye screening service to the 34,000 + people with diabetes in Doncaster and Bassetlaw.
In this role you will be working as part of the Diabetes and Endocrine Team based in the Diabetes Centre at Doncaster Royal Infirmary but you may be required to work on multiple sites.
The post holder will be working alongside the other members of the Administration Team, and will be supported by the Failsafe Officer and Programme Managers for the DBDESP. The post entails booking and managing Diabetes Eye Screening appointments, printing and sending all types of appointment and results letters to patients, GP's and other relevant colleagues. You will also act as receptionist at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary site, booking patients in for their appointments answering telephone enquiries, changing appointments and providing advice as required following training.
Main duties of the job
Print letters for Ophthalmology referrals Answer questions from GP's and patients etc. on screening issues. Work closely with the Failsafe team regarding the Single collated list management. Including exclusions and Post Office returns etc Book interpreters as necessary Ensure all patient identifiable data is transmitted according to data security Perform all duties in eye screening failsafe quality assurance protocol Extract information from OptoMize database Regularly update address lists and manage contact database on OptoMize system Attend and contribute to team meetings providing minute taking support Take telephone messages and deal with General Enquiries Input biochemical results into the system Administration of appointments including booking, cancelling, changing said appointments. Printing all results letters when generated and getting these letters ready for postage using the in house letter folder. Liaise with other departments/ hospitals etc. where necessary Liaise with Senior staff in respect of changing clinic requirements, setting up and cancelling clinic as required.

Qualifications & Training Essential
Minimum of 3 GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent or equivalent experience Willing to complete the Diabetes Eye Screening Administration Competencies

RSA 1 /OCR1 Keyboard Skills or equivalent CLAIT NVQ Customer Care
Knowledge & Experience Essential
Previous clerical or reception experience in an NHS setting
