Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Specialist Radiographer within MRI, youll be part of a highly experienced, supportive Imaging team delivering complex diagnostic imaging across inpatient and outpatient pathways. Youll take clinical ownership of MRI practice, supporting image quality, patient experience and operational flow, while stepping into leadership responsibilities that go beyond the scanner. This includes supervising colleagues, guiding less experienced radiographers, contributing to audits and optimisation work, and confidently running the MRI modality in the absence of a modality lead. The service benefits from ongoing investment in technology, including planned upgrades to one point five and three Tesla scanners, giving you the opportunity to work at the forefront of MRI practice within a well resourced private healthcare setting.

What youll do:
Deliver high quality, complex MRI imaging, taking responsibility for patient assessment, protocol selection and image optimisation.
Provide day to day clinical leadership within MRI, supervising radiographers, assistants and students, and supporting a positive learning environment.
Take an active role in running the MRI modality, contributing to service flow, problem solving and decision making in the absence of the modality lead.
Ensure full compliance with radiation legislation, local rules, infection prevention, governance and HCA UK policies.
Participate in audits, research activity and service improvement initiatives to continuously enhance quality and safety.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Significant postgraduate experience, including at least two years working within MRI as a specialist modality. Strong working knowledge of MRI techniques, protocols and image critique, with the confidence to guide and support colleagues. Proven experience supervising, mentoring or training staff and students within a clinical imaging environment. A professional, patient centred approach, with excellent communication skills and a clear commitment to governance and best practice.
Qualifications Essential
BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, with HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
