Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for you join us as a Senior Clinical Fellow.
Your role, will be in the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department based primarily on the Southend University Hospital Site.
The role is designed to provide you with a thorough and comprehensive approach to the medical and surgical management of patients with acute and elective Orthopaedic concerns.
The educational methods include assessment of patients in clinics, pre-operative planning sessions, radiology, rounds and direct surgical experience. Depending upon your competency, there would be fair opportunities for taking a lead role in various operating, teaching and clinic related activities.

Main duties of the job
The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. The post holder will be expected to undertake the following:
To help provide Trauma and Orthopaedic service of highest standard: this is a Consultant led service. To work flexibly with other colleagues to achieve hospital's agreed planned activity for inpatient and out-patient services. This includes outpatient clinics, acute and elective admissions and theatres. To participate in the full shift middle grade on-call rota system as organized by the Directorate. To participate in the trauma meetings as part of the on-call trauma rota. To ensure that the standards of patient care are maintained and developed through clinical audits and evidence-based research.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
MBBS or equivalent from a recognised Medical School Full Registration with the General Medical Council MRCS
Desirable
ATLS certified Working towards FRCS Tr & Ortho
Experience Essential
Minimum 3 years experience as at Clinical Fellow ST1-3
Desirable
UK NHS hospital experience Interest in teaching and education Theatre, Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinic experience and exposure Audit & research involvement
