About this role

Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the execution of maintenance duties, trouble shooting/ repair and minor new works on a wide range of plant, equipment and premises within the Trust, or for other organization's as directed. These duties will essentially involve his/her specialism, however progressive training and experience of other elements of other craftsman skills will enable the post holder to reach levels of flexibility and competence over a wide range of traditional building and engineering works.

3. Acquire knowledge and skill across a wide range of other trades and be prepared to use that expertise to benefit the users of the estate.

4. Understand fully the inter-relationship between the various maintenance crafts.

5. Be committed to working as a member of the Estates Team and be responsible for ensuring that a quality, cost-efficient service is provided for estate users.

6. Be responsible for carrying out all duties in accordance with current Health & Safety at Work legislation or any other statutory requirements or guidelines.

7. Establish close liaison and good lines of communication with estate users, ensuring they are kept informed at all times about the progress of work.

8. Responsible for reporting back to his/her line manager any variations to the work described on his/her job docket.

9. To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade, which may be allocated from time to time.

General requirements

All Trust employees are expected to maintain existing skills and develop/receive training in new skills, as required to carry out the work of the Trust.

Job description review

This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities and in discussion with the manager the postholder may be required to undertake other duties which fall within the banding of the post. The job description will be reviewed regularly in the light of changing service requirements and any such changes will be discussed with the post holder.

The post holder should be comfortable in the use of computer technology, have basic keyboard skills and have the ability to use email.
