Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Single Point of Referral Team for an enthusiastic team player to join our call handler and administrative team to support the clinical services in Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. Single Point of Referral supports the delivery of care to people in their own homes who need urgent and planned community services.
The successful candidate will take calls from professionals and will be instrumental in capturing the required information to inform our clinical teams. You will need a friendly manner, have excellent IT skills and a positive attitude. The hub is open 7 days a week 08:00-18:00 and a variety of shifts can be offered to suit candidates and provide flexible working.
Please note that this job does not meet the salary requirements for work visa sponsorship and as such we will be unable to progress your application if you do not have the right to work in the UK.
Main duties of the job
To be the first point of contact for all services within locality area. Answer and deal with all telephone enquiries from Health Care Professionals, Service Users and Carers in a courteous, professional and confident manner sign posting as appropriate and necessary. Maintain appropriate records both manually and computerised for all referrals for all services. Deal direct with the patients and carers working within the relevant service guidelines.

Person Specification
Training & Qualifications Essential
RSA II or equivalent experience (example ECDL) Good standard of education (e.g. GCSE level or equivalent)
Experience Essential
Demonstrable general customer care experience. Demonstrable general administration experience Good typing and word processing skills Evidence of ability to maintain filing systems.
Knowledge and Skills Essential
Database experience: Excel & Access. Computer literate e.g. ECDL. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. A good telephone manner with an ability to remain calm under pressure.
