Trust Doctor (eqv. to ST3+) in Geriatric and rehabilitation MedicineFixed Term 12 monthsWhipps Cross HospitalOur OPS (Older People's Services) team is growing, and we would like you to be a part of our fantastic workforce. We are advertising for a 12-month fixed term Trust Doctor (ST3+equivalent) post to cover the Ainslie rehabilitation unit and commencing as soon as possible. The Ainslie rehabilitation unit is based in the north of Chingford and is separate from Whipps Cross Hospital. This post will sit within the department of Older People's Services at Whipps cross who are recruiting on behalf of the Northeast London foundation trust (NELFT).The post holder will be based at Ainslie rehabilitation unit for the duration of the post.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be able to develop individualised educational goals. This post presents excellent opportunities to develop clinical skills in geriatric and rehabilitation medicine. This post provides a good educational opportunity and if the post holder is interested they will be able to gain audit, research, or teaching experience by linking up with the Whipps cross team. You should have a current full registration with the General Medical Council and have experience across a broad range of Medical Subspecialties.Ainslie rehabilitation unit serves a local population with a high degree of frailty and multi-morbidity.

Broad experience in Geriatrics and G(I)M Current ALS certificate

Desirable

Higher trainee-equivalent experience in Geriatric Medicine Geriatric sub-specialty experience/rehabilitation medicine

Knowledge Essential

Detailed knowledge of Geriatrics and G(I)M, rehabilitation medicine specialist skills required for this post Knowledge of multidisciplinary clinical audit/quality improvement and demonstrable commitment to improving quality of care to patients Understanding of modern medical curricula and commitment to life-long learning

Desirable

Completion of a post-graduate qualification in Geriatric Medicine (e.g. Diploma in Geriatric Medicine, Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE))
