Job summary

The Performance and Modelling Analyst role sits within the Performance and Business Intelligence Division, reporting to the Associate Director of Performance and Planning. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the Performance team and working closely with corporate and Clinical Operational Management teams.

The role requires strong expertise in business analysis, developed through involvement in complex, high-profile projects, alongside recent experience working with a wide range of stakeholders in fast-paced, evolving environments. Excellent communication, planning, negotiation and influencing skills are essential, including the ability to navigate complex issues, build consensus and engage effectively across all organisational levels.

The successful candidate must be able to clearly communicate both technical and non-technical aspects of business analysis to diverse audiences. A passion for working in innovative, collaborative and inclusive environments is important, as is experience in large-scale or multi-functional organisational design projects from initial concept through to delivery.

Overall, the role is suited to a dynamic individual who can combine analytical expertise with strong interpersonal skills to support organisational performance and improvement.

Main duties of the job

The role supports the business in driving recovery, reviewing robust information and leading on complex analysis tasks. This is an important, role within the Trust, offering key analysis to senior management and the exec to assist with understanding and controlling performance and development modelling. The holder will actively promote the use of analytical methods, with a particular focus on modelling, Demand and Capacity analysis and benchmarking. Operational Produce KPI analysis and period performance. Support on ad hoc queries and scenario modelling (e.g., performance) Provision of data driven insight to senior team colleagues and exec directors toassist with decision making and optimising effective and efficient delivery of services Support the forecasting process for the performance and Planning functions andworkstreams. Involvement in the design and development of reporting improvement programme. Look for efficiencies and opportunities in the business. To support the delivery of day-to-day activities. Support the portfolio of initiatives in demonstrating value for money for the currentspend through tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits.Analyst Role: Develop and maintain analytical capacity within the Trust specifically employingstrategic, predictive and demand and capacity analysis to aid decision makingprocesses Develop and embed benchmarking use within the Trust maintaining an awarenessofexternal benchmarking. Apply your information knowledge and expertise to proactively support performanceand planninginformation requirements. Act as an information ambassador for the performance and planning functions anddiscussions, includingwith external bodies (e.g., commissioners, auditors) Develop a broad understanding of various reporting areas within the trust and adoptapro-active approach to understanding new datasets, evaluating information needsandproblem solving. Build strong working relations with all colleagues, in particular; with Senior Management, execs and the Finance, Workforce, Transformation QI and Strategyteams. Analyse performance, investigating the underlying causes and highlighting keyissuesfor discussion and action. Clearly communicate key issues and risks highlighted byanalysis. Contribute to the wider development of analysis technique sharing new ideas andsupporting application of best practice for analysis and information presentation. Provide support and training to enable management teams in performing their ownbasic analyseswith minimal support. Provide presentations at a range of forums, delivering formal, highly complexinformation to varying groups / meetings. Collaborating with senior leaders, and the wider System to drive transformativestrategic delivery. Utilising extensive business analysis techniques to effectively elicit and capturerequirements. Leading the review and redesign of business and system processes, enhancingoverallefficiency. Identifying project benefits and establishing measurable metrics for success. Contributing to fostering a culture of operational improvement across the Trust. Playing an active role in testing and other essential business analysis activities. Taking charge of initiatives within a dynamic and evolving environment, ensuringtheirsuccessful execution. Be responsible for a high standard of work supporting delivery on time, to qualitystandards and in a cost effective manner. Work with Performance and BI colleagues and if required support other project as and whenrequired.Management Directly responsible for day to day analysis work assigned to the team. Forge close positive working relationships, in order to support an effective matrixapproach to achieve NHS objectives. To support, motivate and develop colleagues within the team to ensure that they areable to deliver the new responsibilities of the NHS strategy. Managing third parties (such as consultants/interims) to ensure deliverables are metin a timely manner and within budget. Information Management Drafting reports summarising status on issues, appraising outcomes, and providingprogress reports for the Head of Department. Collate as required, qualitative and quantitative information and lead appropriateanalysis to develop robust information and contribute to project products. Analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues, risks and support decisionmaking.
