Main duties of the job
Deliver a mix of routine and urgent GP consultations (face-to-face and telephone as clinically appropriate) Manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions Provide appropriate prescribing, investigations, and referrals Ensure safe and effective clinical decision-making and safety-netting Maintain accurate and timely clinical records Visit patients in their own homes To be involved in the teaching and training medical students Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team Participate in clinical meetings and practice development activities
About us
Radford Medical Practice is a well-established inner-city practice operating across two sites, caring for approximately 20,500 patients. Our Trent site serves a large student population from Nottingham Trent University (around 14,000 patients) alongside our Radford site, which supports a smaller and diverse local community of around 6,500 patients.

Job description Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
Undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, online consultations, triaging, visiting patients in their own home, checking and signing of repeat prescriptions, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations (e.g. Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practice, referral letters both NHS and private, paperwork (including private letters) and correspondence in a timely manner.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting data for audit purposes
Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand- written prescriptions wherever possible)
Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
