Courtyard Surgery is a friendly family-focused rural GP practice on the edge of Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire with approximately 3,300 patients and growing. We are now seeking a new Practice nurse to join our team to lead our nursing services and manage a team of 3 others, an Assistant Practitioner, Healthcare Assistant and GP Assistant, to provide nursing services in accordance with QOF and CQC guidelines.
The practice offers a supportive and well-established clinical and non-clinical team, providing an excellent environment to deliver high-quality patient care. Youll join a tight-knit team of 20, working closely with our GP partner, salaried GPs, nursing team, practice manager and patient liaison team members.
The role will primarily focus upon all areas of practice nursing including adult and baby immunisations, women's health including cervical cytology, ECG's, health promotion, phlebotomy, wound care including compression and ABPI.
An interest or experience in diabetes and frailty would be welcomed (development/ support would be provided).

Main duties of the job
Responsibilities
Chronic Disease Management: Running regular clinics to screen, monitor, and treat long-term conditions such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, and hypertension, delivery of QOF targets as part of a team. Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate.
Women's and Sexual Health: Delivering family planning advice, prescribing or administering contraception, and performing cervical cytology (smear tests).
Immunisations and Travel Health: Administering childhood immunisations, baby injections, and providing travel health advice and vaccinations.
Team management: Line management of a team of 3, supervision, training and CQC compliance, personal development.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
NMC Registration: Valid and unrestricted registration as an Adult Nurse (RNA/RGN). or Nursing Degree: BSc (Hons) or Diploma of Higher Education in Adult Nursing. Cervical Cytology: Recognised qualification and current certification in cervical screening. Immunisation Training: Up-to-date certification in childhood immunisation and travel health. BLS Certification: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and anaphylaxis management.
Desirable
Practice Nursing Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ): Post-graduate general practice nursing qualification. Chronic Disease Diplomas: Specific qualifications in Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, or coronary heart disease management. Non-Medical Prescribing: V300 independent nurse prescriber qualification.
