Job summary
Are you looking for a rotational post which will allow you to develop clinical skills across a range of specialities? If the answer is yes, we have an exciting opportunity for you at LPT.
This rotational post would give a rare, and sought after, opportunity to gain a variety of clinical skills in physical health, mental health, inpatient, community, falls and neuro settings. The rotations are for 9 months each. Shift patterns differ for each rotation with the Community Therapy team providing a 7-day service, and other teams being Monday-Friday.
What's the Deal?
Support galore: You will be working as part of a team of established, supportive and welcoming teams of OTs along with other MDT professionals. If applicable you will be enrolled on a year long preceptorship programme alongside regular supervision and appraisal as well as opportunities to attend in-service training.
Explore and Grow: The rotation includes community therapy in Hinckley, falls team based in Loughborough including group clinics & domiciliary visits, D2A & stroke ward at Coalville Hospital, Community Mental Health services for older people and Community Integrated Neuro and Stroke services in Loughborough or Hinckley.
Be part of something bigger: You'll be a key player in our integrated & specialist community services, working alongside amazing teams and health and social care professionals.
Mobility: It is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence with access to an appropriate vehicle.
Main duties of the job
Your mission: You'll be providing an occupational therapy assessment and rehabilitation service to the patients on your area of rotation.
Your superpowers: You will possess a professional approach with good communication and problem-solving skills with a positive approach to MDT working and person centred care. You will be keen to learn and develop and engage with a wide variety of OT interventions in a variety of settings.
Team working: You will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues regarding clinical work, and with other professionals from within the appropriate MDT and outside agencies.
Experience: You must be a HCPC registered OT.This post is a fantastic opportunity to anyone who has just graduated or someone who has already been practicing but is interested in experiencing a variety of clinical settings.
Settings: Hinckley Community Therapy; Falls service based in Loughborough, D2A Ward Coalville, Stroke Ward Coalville, Mental Health Services for Older People Loughborough or Hinckley, Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Services Loughborough or Hinckley. The area that you start in will be dependent upon where the gap sits.
