Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (Screen-out Element) Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc., Operation of cryogenic storage and dispensing equipment forklift, etc. Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of measuring instruments Ability to interpret instructions, specification, etc. (other than blueprinting reading) Dexterity and safety National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major DutiesYou will serve as a Fuel Distribution Worker. This position is located in DHS/U.S. Coast Guard, Seventh Coast Guard District, Air Station Clearwater, Engineering Department, in Clearwater, FL. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: .Performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly fuel farm/truck inspections, maintenance and service equipment. Receiving fuel from vendors and performs testing of the fuel. Connecting and disconnecting hoses and open and close valves, checking periodically for leaks and checking the condition of storage tanks. Operating equipment to transfer fuels from storage tanks to aircraft tank trucks or similar vehicles.
