About this role
Help Shape Behavioral Health Care Within Women’s Health
Bring behavioral health care closer to where patients already receive care.
CentraCare is seeking a Psychotherapist or Psychologist to join our Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) team as an embedded member of our OB & Women’s Health Clinic in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
This is more than a traditional outpatient behavioral health role. You’ll work alongside OB/GYN physicians, advanced practice providers and clinic staff as part of a truly integrated care team, making behavioral health a routine part of women’s healthcare rather than a separate or add-on service.
Through warm handoffs, timely assessment, brief solution-focused interventions and ongoing collaboration, you’ll help patients feel heard and supported during pregnancy, postpartum and other important stages of women’s health. You’ll also help patients navigate next steps when ongoing therapy, medication management or other specialty services may be needed.
What Makes This Role Different
As an Integrated Behavioral Health Provider, you’re not practicing separately from the medical team. You’re part of the team, helping establish a consistent, coordinated approach to whole-person care.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Work directly within the OB & Women’s Health Clinic alongside physicians, advanced practice providers and other clinical partners
- Connect with patients through warm handoffs during OB/GYN visits, offering timely support when concerns arise
- Provide brief, solution-focused interventions for concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and adjustment to difficult news
- Support patients navigating pregnancy-related mental health changes, postpartum depression or anxiety, and emotionally challenging prenatal diagnoses
- Offer short-term follow-up and personalized guidance, helping patients access ongoing therapy, medication management or additional behavioral health services when appropriate
- Collaborate closely with OB/GYN providers and clinic staff to coordinate care for patients with complex or longstanding behavioral health needs
- Help shape the continued growth of integrated behavioral health and maternal mental health services at CentraCare
Where You Can Make an Impact
During a routine prenatal or postpartum visit, a patient may be experiencing worsening anxiety or depression, grief or trauma, or uncertainty after an unexpected fetal diagnosis. Others may have a complex mental health history and feel overwhelmed by the prospect of seeking another provider. As an embedded IBH clinician, you can meet patients where they are, provide supportive intervention in the moment, and work with the care team on a personalized plan for follow-up and ongoing treatment.
Help Build What’s Next
CentraCare’s Integrated Behavioral Health program continues to expand from primary care into specialty care. This role offers the opportunity to help establish a consistent standard of care within OB & Women’s Health, where behavioral health support is embedded alongside medical care and patients can receive compassionate, coordinated guidance at the point of need.
If you have an interest in women’s health, maternal or perinatal mental health, family systems, early childhood mental health or integrated care, we’d love to hear from you.
