Job Title: General Production Worker Afternoons (Disc Making Technician)Job DescriptionThe general production worker (disc making technician) supports manufacturing operations by assembling components, operating production equipment, and assisting with process and quality improvements. This role works closely with product engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to help develop new processes, implement quality innovations, and ensure efficient, reliable production in a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments to support process improvements and quality innovations.
• Assemble parts and components accurately according to blueprints and work instructions.
• Operate production machinery and presses safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
• Use basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools to perform production tasks and verify part dimensions.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment to reduce downtime and maintain smooth operations.
• Follow established procedures and quality standards to ensure products meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious work area at all times.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production issues, equipment concerns, and quality observations.
• Adhere to all safety policies, including the proper use of safety shoes and safety glasses.
• Work afternoon shifts consistently and manage commute needs for late-night finish times.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude with experience using basic hand tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on production equipment.
• Experience assembling parts in a manufacturing or mechanical engineering environment.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints or technical drawings.
• Competence in machine operation and press operating in a production setting.
• Proficiency using measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and warm conditions.
• Ability to reliably commute for afternoon shifts, including late-night end times.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing environment with a ventilation system, though the facility can become warm in the summer due to a large oven on site. The workplace maintains a very safety-conscious and clean atmosphere, with moderate noise levels typical of production operations. Safety shoes and safety glasses are required attire while on the production floor. The position follows an afternoon shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., so reliable transportation is important, especially as public transit may not operate after the shift ends. Employees use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and production machinery, working closely with engineering and quality teams in a structured, process-driven environment.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, ON.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
