Why Work Here? You join a motivated, diverse team that values collaboration, inclusion, and treating each person as a true member of the crew. The role offers exceptional variety, with opportunities to work on different aircraft types and specialized projects while traveling to various locations and meeting new people. You benefit from a strong sense of job satisfaction, regular team-building events such as BBQs and wrap-up get-togethers, and a supportive culture that emphasizes belonging and shared success.
Travel packages, company-arranged accommodations, per diem support, and flexible rotation schedules further enhance work-life balance and make this a compelling opportunity for experienced avionics professionals. Work EnvironmentYou work in a dynamic aviation maintenance and modification environment alongside approximately 14 avionics technicians per shift. The schedule typically runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the expectation that split shifts may be introduced, such as 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., to meet project demands.
Rotation patterns are flexible, commonly structured as 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off or ideally 3 weeks on and 2 weeks off, with work weeks reaching up to about 60 hours. The environment emphasizes flexibility and teamwork, with clear reporting lines to supervisors while maintaining a collaborative atmosphere among managers and technicians. Company-provided accommodations are available for contractors, and if space is limited, appropriate alternatives are arranged. Per diem is provided for days worked, with higher rates when traveling outside the primary location to other sites in Canada.
Transportation support includes shuttle service from the airport to lodging and access to company vehicles for travel to and from worksites and for personal errands such as grocery shopping after hours. Ferry costs are covered through expense reports when using personal vehicles, and travel kilometers are compensated at a set rate. The facility operates under structured quality and safety systems, with an expectation that technicians use calibrated tools, maintain their work areas, and adhere to all operational procedures.
