Job Title: Junior CMM ProgrammerJob DescriptionThe Junior CMM Programmer/Quality Engineer is responsible for ZEISS CALYPSO CMM programming, dimensional inspection, inspection planning, and quality assurance for precision aerospace components. This role supports production prove-outs, customer source inspections, nonconformance resolution, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and engineering specifications. It requires working GD&T literacy, sound measurement principles, and the discipline to maintain accurate inspection records and product traceability. This position is ideal for detail-oriented engineers and technologists who demonstrate a bias for action, provide clear and practical feedback on the shop floor, and contribute to organizational knowledge by standardizing inspection methods and preventing recurring nonconformances.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ZEISS CALYPSO CMM programming for precision aerospace components.
• Perform dimensional inspections and quality assurance tasks.
• Plan and execute inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
• Support production prove-outs and customer source inspections.
• Resolve nonconformance issues and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure product traceability.
• Provide clear and practical feedback on the shop floor.
• Standardize inspection methods to prevent recurring nonconformances.

Essential Skills

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Zeiss Calypso CMM Programming.
• Proficiency in GD&T literacy and dimensional inspection techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with precision measuring equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a precision manufacturing or quality inspection environment.
• Exposure to AS9100 and AS9102 First Article Inspection.
• Experience with ZEISS PiWeb reporting or quality management software such as 1Factory.
• Familiarity with NCR, MRB, and RCCA processes (8D, 5 Whys).
• Exposure to SPC, measurement system analysis (gauge R&R), and measurement uncertainty.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or space manufacturing with exotic materials and complex geometries.
• PCDMIS knowledge will be considered.

Work EnvironmentThis position operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. The role involves working with advanced technologies and equipment in a precision manufacturing setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vaughan, ON.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
