Job Title: Application EngineerJob DescriptionThis position is responsible for supporting Regional Sales (RS) and Product Managers (PM) in meeting customers' technical requirements by leveraging technical expertise and providing professional engineering support.

Responsibilities

• Assist RS and PM in answering technical inquiries, preparing proposals, and providing on-site support as requested.
• Support RS and PM in delivering technical training to distributors and sales representatives.
• Assist customers in resolving issues related to products.
• Build and maintain demonstration units.
• Prepare sales and marketing materials to support and enhance RS and PM activities.
• Provide technical support, including motor selection, wiring, setup assistance, servo tuning, parameter configuration, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and related services.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of product applications to effectively support sales presentations and product demonstrations.
• Maintain knowledge of product specifications, servo and stepper motor fundamentals, and manufacturing processes to assist customers with product selection and application design.
• Continuously improve technical and business skills through in-house and external training programs.
• Collaborate with sales representatives and distributors to generate new business opportunities.
• Perform service work promptly, safely, and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction as measured by timely resolution of issues, minimal customer disputes, and positive customer feedback.
• Travel as required to support field service activities and customer needs.
• Diagnose and resolve customer technical product issues.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and records.
• Deliver technical product training courses to customers as assigned.
• Assist in training sales personnel, engineers, distributors, and other associates.
• Travel up to 50% as required.
• Provide technical training to improve product and application knowledge.
• Assist with failure analysis and root cause investigations.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and emerging equipment.
• Continuously study, update, and present the features and benefits of products.
• Collaborate with engineers from business partners to strengthen technical cooperation and support joint sales initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze sales and technical issues and develop effective, practical solutions.
• Ability to calculate discounts, commissions, percentages, ratios, margins, and other business-related financial metrics.
• Understanding of profit and margin calculations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in product management, technical support, and engineering.

Work EnvironmentThe position is 100% onsite in Torrance with required travel to support field service activities and customer needs. The standard working hours are 8-5.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Torrance, CA.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $68000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.health, dental, vision, PTO, sick pay, and more
