Role Overview
- The Government of Ontario is undertaking a large-scale Data & AI transformation initiative, with the Ontario Data Platform (ODP) serving as the enterprise technology ecosystem for data-driven decision-making, analytics, and artificial intelligence. ODP provides a modern and scalable data environment that supports data ingestion, storage, processing, governance, quality, marketplace capabilities, and advanced analytics across ministries and government organizations.
- We are seeking a Power BI Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver insightful dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that enable evidence-based decision-making across government programs and services.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements
Must Haves
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling concepts.
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and business intelligence best practices.
- Experience working with large datasets and transforming complex business requirements into reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, star schema design, and analytical data modelling concepts.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage principles.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Databricks, including connecting Power BI to Databricks SQL Warehouses and Lakehouse data sources.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Platform services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience with enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives.
