Senior Occupational therapist
Band 6
We are looking for a keen OT to join our Acute Therapy Team. The team consists of Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy staff. There are rotations through medicine, elderly care, surgery and orthopaedics providing a wide variety of experience within the acute wards.Supervision and support is provided by the Band 7 Occupational therapist.

Main duties of the job
To manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions To provide leadership for junior staff through supervision, competencies and appraisal To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Therapy services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects To contribute to the maintenance and development of the trust Therapy service To regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements To participate in the rotations as assigned by your manager

Person Specification
Education and qualification Essential
BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy. HCPC Registered as OT
Desirable
Relevant postgraduate training
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING Essential
Knowledge of a range of OT models and demonstrate being up to date with trends and developments in OT stroke rehab Awareness of clinical guidelines and NSF's - NOF's, Elderly Care and Falls
Experience Essential
Postgraduate, incorporating experience in a variety of core areas including Elder, Surgery, Stroke and Medicine Experience working as an OT with adults in NHS
Desirable
Previous OT Band 6 experience with adults Previous Community Band 6 OT experience with adults
SKILLS / ABILITIES Essential
